World Championship ticket ballot odds: no reliable percentage from capacity alone
Understand the 2026/27 World Darts Championship ticket ballot: why 180,000 tickets do not reveal your odds, member priority and what to do now.

There is no reliable percentage chance to calculate from the published 2026/27 ticket-ballot announcements. The PDC’s announcement and Alexandra Palace’s ballot information explain the entry windows and selection process, but do not give the application totals and allocation breakdown needed to calculate your chance of securing tickets.
This is about ticket-ballot odds, not betting odds on who will win the championship.
As of 25 October 2026, both entry windows have closed. Alexandra Palace says applicants were due to receive their outcomes between 21 and 25 September. The championship runs from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 in the venue’s Great Hall. Alexandra Palace’s current event listing confirms those dates and the closed ballot.
What “ballot odds” would measure
The useful number is the probability that a valid application secures tickets for at least one session. That is different from the number of seats available, or the chance of getting a specific preferred session.
Consider a hypothetical single-session draw with 10,000 valid applications, each requesting the same number of tickets. If 1,000 applications are selected uniformly at random:
| Measure | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Selection probability | 1,000 ÷ 10,000 | 10% |
| “One in” chance | 10,000 ÷ 1,000 | 1 in 10 |
| Odds against selection | 9,000 unsuccessful : 1,000 successful | 9:1 |
Those are three ways of describing the same example—not estimates for the World Championship.
For a completed ballot, successful applications divided by valid applications would give an overall selection rate. To turn that into a meaningful estimate for a particular applicant, you would also need to account for the ballot stage, session choices, ticket quantities and allocation rules.
Why 180,000 tickets does not reveal your chance
The PDC announced a record 180,000 tickets across the tournament, alongside the move into the Great Hall. That is total ticket capacity, not 180,000 successful applications. The PDC’s ballot announcement also warned that demand was expected to exceed capacity.
Applications could cover up to two sessions, with up to six tickets per session. Applicants could rank preferred sessions or choose “Any Session” if willing to attend an alternative. Alexandra Palace’s ballot information sets out those options.
Consequently, dividing 180,000 by a headline applicant count would mix seats with applications. It would also ignore how demand was distributed between sessions and how tickets were allocated between the member and general stages.
Nor can you assume that selecting two sessions doubled your chance. That would require information about how the two choices were processed; they should not simply be treated as independent draws.
Did membership or early entry improve the odds?
PDCTV Annual Membership provided priority, not a guarantee. The members’ ballot ran from 1–7 September, ahead of the general ballot on 8–14 September. Eligibility required an active annual subscription before 23:59 BST on 30 August. The PDC described this as an “increased opportunity” to secure tickets, but did not quantify the improvement in its announcement. Buying a subscription now cannot restore eligibility for that closed window. PDC membership and ballot dates.
Entering early did not improve selection chances within the window. The PDC explicitly said all valid general-ballot entries had the same opportunity regardless of submission time. PDC general-ballot notice. Alexandra Palace also says applications were selected at random after closing. That does not establish that every session had identical demand. Venue ballot rules.
What to do now
If you entered but cannot find an outcome, check your email and spam folder: the published notification period has passed. Successful applications were set up for automatic payment, while unsuccessful applicants would not be charged. Alexandra Palace’s application information.
If you missed out, the venue identifies See Tickets Fan-to-Fan as the official resale platform and says any tickets subsequently resold must be listed there. Official resale guidance. Availability is not guaranteed; the PDC also warned that tickets might not remain after the ballot. Follow official ticket updates rather than treating a claimed “ballot success rate” as evidence that seats will become available.
